broke down2fast1great value1

Just got a 6 qt Pro for $80 after selling an 8 qt that took too much counter space and burned more; couldn't be happier.

positive

Their 8 qt Pro's temperature is fairly accurate, about 2F below the set value in sous vide, and their yogurt sets reliably.

positive

Their brand-new 6 qt Pro runs 5 degrees hot and can't be calibrated, which matters for yogurt fermentation.

negative

Their 8 qt Pro from 2022 has started burning food on the inner pot several times this year, and Instant says the 8 qt handled replacement pot is discontinued.

negative

Has used and really loved their Instant Pot Pro 8 qt since 2023, but after a drop broke the lid they can't find a replacement lid anywhere.

positive

Just bought an Instant Pot Pro 5.7 L and couldn't get yoghurt to move from the pasteurising stage to fermentation, unlike on their old 3.8 L Instant Pot; they are thinking of returning it.

“I pasteurised the milk, waited for the milk to cool down, but then couldn't switch to the 2nd (fermentation) stage. The Instant Pot just wanted to pasteurise again and I couldn't bypass that stage”

Upgraded from a Duo, which still works, to the Pro for its handles and yogurt and sous vide settings; it was fine for a year, then threw a C7 error and would not heat.

negativebroke down

Bought an 8 qt Instant Pot Pro at a liquidator's auction for under $10 and finds it a fantastic machine despite its dents.

positivegreat value

Right after the warranty ran out their Instant Pot Pro 8 stopped starting pressure cooking reliably: after sautéing it doesn't heat until they restart it two or three times, though the sealing ring is fine.

negativebroke down

Household of two chose the 8 qt Pro and even make cheesecake in it.

positive

Recommends the 8 qt Pro because theirs heats up as fast as a 6 qt and doesn't seem to need extra water, so it cooks 6 qt recipes as written.

positivefast

Has the Pro 10-in-1 and is pretty happy with it, especially that the inner pot can go on the stove.

positive

Has had the Instant Pot Pro for a year and it still works as well as day one; their only complaint is the stainless inner pot feels cheap and takes more effort to clean than their Demeyere pots, though it is dishwasher-safe.

mixed

After their Duo died following years of service they bought the Pro: its sauté is far more usable, the handled pot is great, and its seal and release are better.

positive

Has an 8 qt Pro and finds it good at slow cooking for an Instant Pot, as long as there is enough thin liquid, though not a full slow cooker replacement.

mixed

Loves their Instant Pot Pro, has used all its features and the air fryer lid for crisping casseroles, and does a lot of pot-in-pot cooking.

positive

Owns both the Pro and the Duo and finds the Pro better in almost every way, though neither is especially good at slow cooking or rice.

positive

Upgraded to an 8 qt Pro four years ago after four years with an 8 qt Duo; bought on a whim, it now gets used about 60 times a year.

positive

Loves the handles on their 8 qt Instant Pot Pro, but there is no replacement inner pot for the 8 qt.

mixed

Owns six Instant Pots (Mini, two Duos, Duo Plus, Lux and Pro) and recommends the Pro; the 6 qt is plenty for two with meal prep and its flat-bottom pot also works on the stove.
