Bought a KSM70SNDXER in empire red and finds it handles heavy dough just fine.

Has been very disappointed with their 7 qt mixer, finding it great for big batches but not for smaller ones.
Has had their refurbished 7-qt bowl-lift about three months and loves it for cookies, bread and muffins; it arrived looking unused.
The flat beater on their new 6.6 L bowl-lift collides with and scratches the bowl at speeds 8-10.
First time using their new 7-qt KSM70 on croissant dough, it sounded like it was struggling a bit when turned up to speed 5.
Their 7-qt sounded the same out of the box; it's much quieter than their old 5 qt HD but has a high-pitched whine under load.
Their old 6-qt bowl-lift overheated on large bread batches; the 7-qt they got last year has had no issues and is much quieter.
Upgraded from a tilt-head to the 6.6 L bowl-lift for bagel and baguette dough kneading and it has worked great at speed 2.
Ended up getting the KSM70 and is very happy with it.
Their KSM70 got very hot in the motor when making a double batch of bagels, so they bought the 8 qt commercial.
Upgraded from a tilt-head to the KSM70: quieter, noticeably more powerful in the bowl, with heavy stainless accessories and a soft start, but its speed selector, lift lever and hub lock feel less solid than the tilt-head's.
Bought a refurbished 7 qt bowl-lift with all attachments from KitchenAid last Christmas for $250, and it arrived new and perfect.
Their fairly new 7 qt bowl-lift's lift mechanism rocks like crazy, which KitchenAid calls normal; unhappy with it for bread, they bought an Ankarsrum, while their old Pro 600 was rock solid.
Scored a refurbished 7 qt bowl-lift last year and it's been a dream.
Bought the 6.6 L bowl-lift on sale; the stainless Powerknead hook is excellent for high-hydration dough and they find it strong and sturdy, great for two loaves.
Upgraded from a 5 qt tilt-head to the KSM70 for large-batch baking and calls it a very good decision.
Has used KitchenAids since the 1990s, a Professional 6 since the early 2000s and a 7 quart since 2023, and says they have all been workhorses.
Replaced a tilt-head whose motor they blew out with a KSM70 and loves it: used two or three times a week from egg whites to heavy bread dough, it stays put and kneads serenely instead of juddering across the counter, and they like the half speed and soft start.
